After being introduced to the concept of teaching ESL by a friend, Alan McIvor decided that Asia was the place to begin. However, after arriving in Taiwan Alan realized that teaching ESL wasn't what he expected. After dealing with a lack of work life balance for a few years, he decided to exit the industry.
