#21 The Rebel Orthodontist - Mike Mew

Mike Mew has brought the world the famous mewing movement. The son of Prof. John Mew, Mike is known to have changed tens, or potentially even hundreds of thousands of lives.  

You wouldn't think that something as simple as good tongue posture, standing up straight and taping the mouth shut when sleeping at night would affect your life to any great degree. The truth is though, that these tiny habits can change the course of your health. Everything from sleep apnea to IQ is dictated by facial structure, which is in turn determined by these seemingly inconsequential habits.    

He's an expert at analyzing facial aesthetics, and can pull off some cool party tricks, like telling whether someone is a chronic mouthbreather (check out the chapters beginning at, 41:39 if you want to watch him talk about various celebrities' facial structure.   

Mike is in hot water with the British Orthodontic society, who are refusing to even have a conversation with him about whether or not mewing has scientific merit.   What can you do to help your face? Long story short- practice mewing. Learning how to mew is especially useful to people under the age of 25, but can help anyone who does it. Mewing is not an easy process- it can take years of commitment to see real change. At the end though, you'll have better posture, better teeth, and better sleep.   

Mewing will promote better health, beauty, prevent braces and improve your quality of life.
