Last week, we looked at “Work in Life, part 1.” We saw that work is a good thing that God has given us. Working should not be viewed as a bad thing. It can bring many blessings and joys in life. We all need a purpose in life and some kind of work to do. Without it most of us would be miserable.
This week, in part two, I would like to look at working for God. We all have jobs and work that we need to do to pay our bills and take care of our family and home. But what about the work of God, or spiritual work? The Bible commands every child of God to serve the Lord and do something for Him, not just the pastors, evangelists, or missionaries.
So let’s look at working for God with all our strength and finishing the work He has given each of us to do.
Our verse from the Bible for today is Ecclesiastes 9:10:
Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."
