Lauren and Rachel speak with Kathryn Edwards of DRKMTTR Collective and Donors about her beginning as a show booker, the cyclical challenges in running an all ages DIY-venue, and maintaining her unbridled resiliency.
DRKMTTR has been a hub for DIY shows in Nashville for years, and has operated out of its current location since 2019. While live music has ceased to exist for the majority of 2020, DRKMTTR and the volunteers who run it remain a shining example of how spaces like that can still be used to serve their community. During the pandemic, they've offered up their venue for organizers and currently house the Nashville Free Store, where members of the community can openly share resources, with no one being turned away or questioned about their needs.
