He is an advocate for the liberal arts and a philosopher who aids aspirants in their self-taught education by providing them with the necessary guidance. Besides his bachelor's degree in Philosophy, he also has a minor in Biology.

Dr. Travis had a realization of how hard it is to teach and help someone due to the fact that people are often emotionally involved with everything in their lives. 

Despite being an expert, Dr. Travis had a hard time connecting with his family with regard to the information he was sharing. They don't see him as an expert. This is why he tried to teach them the 'Trivium' without them knowing. This is to avoid engaging in arguments and debates with them. Eventually, years after, his family finally looked at him as someone they trusted in the field.

Dr. Travis is also an author of the book entitled "Restoring Reason: Using the Ancient Liberal Arts to Defend Against Modern Manipulation." This book aims to share knowledge on how liberal arts can help make decisions that will lead to a high-quality life.
