It's the last #podcast of our throwback Be Prayerful series, and we're focusing on probably the hardest topic of all -- unanswered prayer. There are really only two types of prayers: answered and unanswered. Even if it’s really an answer of wait, it feels unanswered. Do you ever get caught up equating God’s love and existence merely in the answer to your prayer? Why do we do this? This week we dug into some of our friends in the Bible to see that God gave us more than ample examples of answered and unanswered prayers with stories we can relate to. Take the time to dig in and read about these stories…these people…our brothers and sisters in Christ who went before us and were written about so that we might glean and grow from their lives.

BE IN THE WORD (this week’s verses):

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

BE DOERS, NOT JUST HEARERS (practical application):

1. Identity some of your most recent and consistent prayers. Which ones have been answered? Which ones have not? Can you see why it might not have been answered? Take the time to think through what you are praying and why.
2. Take time to pray: commit a certain amount of time to pray each day…start small but start.
3. Watch the War Room.
