It feels like Qantas and Jetstar are the grinches that stole Christmas, but it’s not even the festive season, let alone Christmas In July.

Out of interest I thought I’d take a look at the airline carriers websites, went to the Jetstar site first to grab a copy of the Jetstar logo for this episodes show art on social media. It looked basic like my very first website in about 1997. No images then I was redirected to an error message page. I pity those who book online. I’m sure it was just a temporary glitch, I refreshed the page and it was fine.

But we’re not talking about websites today, instead the COVID flight credits both Jetstar and Qantas have been offering.

The airlines have announced customers must book their domestic or international flights this year and complete their travel by December 2024.

Qantas Group chief customer service officer Markus Svensson said COVID credits could be used on sale fares and frequent flyer flight promotions. He said they literally had millions of bookings that were cancelled during several waves of lockdowns and border closures.
