TRIGGER WARNING: Issues of violence against Indigenous people, addiction, and mental illness.
In today's episode, I caught up with my friend Misty Rose, who is a blossoming Nurse and the creator of an event at Seattle University called "Honoring Indigenous Voices". In this conversation, you'll hear about what inspired Misty to create this event where three Indigenous panelists will lead a discussion on Intergenerational Trauma existing in Indigenous Communities specifically due to mandated residential schools. It was an honor to have this conversation with Misty and I encourage you to listen with thoughtfulness and care. We also feature the song "Child of the Government" by Jayli Wolf, which depicts the story of loss and cultural erasure experienced by so many Indigenous people.
Attend Honoring Indigenous Voices at Seattle University (or virtually!!) on October 25th:
