When life becomes overwhelming and the obstacles keep mounting, there comes a point where we have to go above and beyond traditional self-care. The well of the heart is only as good as your commitment to your well-being.

We don't talk a lot about how to care for the heart. But without a heart, you are not alive.

Life may get out of hand once in a while. You may experience seasons that feel next to impossible to get through. But the well of the heart is where you need to focus on in order to go above and beyond where you are now.

So much of us want something more in life. You define that.

However, if you don't care for the most important muscle in your body, the heart, where will you end up?

So fill the well of the heart.

The K.I.S.S. ~ Fill the well of the heart!

There are four chambers of the heart; two on the left and two on the right. So let's fill the well of the heart to live the life God designed for us.

CHAMBER 1 - REST

Rest is most important for the heart. It's during this time that the heart gets the oxygen it needs so it can live.

CHAMBER 2 - WELLNESS

Mayo Clinic has a book called "Mayo Clinic Health Heart for Life". Here are a few things highlighted in the book.

    • EAT 5. Eat five servings of fruits and vegetables a day to boost your heart health. Work on getting five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
    • MOVE 10. Add at least 10 minutes of moderately intense physical activity to what you do every day.For example, studies have found just 60 to 90 minutes a week of physical activity can reduce your heart disease risk by up to 50 percent.
    • SLEEP 8. Quality sleep is good for your heart. It can be a challenge to make time for good sleep, but it's important.
CHAMBER 3 - EMOTIONS & FEELINGS   Emotions and feelings can demolish your day in a heartbeat. Or it can make your day too.   CHAMBER 4 - JOY   What are you intentionally filling your heart with? Joy, love, hope? Or is it wrapped up like a victim?   "Make a promise today: handle your heart with care and treasure it with love." ~ Kristianne Wargo   When your heart does not work for you, you are dead in life. "Train for life. Love your journey!"
