“In the early days there were no constraints. there were no boundaries.” Legendary MC, Divine Styler tells Tim on The Library. “We didn't know what we were doing; we were just having fun. No matter what expression of it you did, whether you were a DJ, whether you were a b-boy, it was just something you did.  It all came together and converged at some point and then it became this thing called hip-hop. But at that point, it was in a pure place of expression...It had no "I'm gonna..." on it. It's the honeymoon phase. And after the honeymoon phase, the marriage turns to shit...It feels like that is where we are now with the art form."
