Not many people talk about new year's resolutions as a couple. Businesses make plans for the new year. Individuals set goals for the new year. So why not couples?

The new year is as good as any time to come together and find some common ground where you both can agree on growth in a particular area that would benefit your marriage.   Imagine how amazing it would feel. Working together to benefit your love for each other. It wouldn't be a one-way street.

And who knows? Fighting at each other may lessen just for the fact that you both are on the same page working towards the same goal(s).

If you desire your marriage to grow deeper, set your couple's intentions for the new year.

When you go about this, keep in mind patience. It is a new concept. And with anything new, there is a learning curve. So be sure to pack your patience.

1. What is a word/phrase (grammar) for the year as a couple? You do it for yourself. Don't you think your marriage would be worth the time?
2. How can you grow as a couple? Think about an area in your marriage that might be good, but you want it to be better. And this is not the time to poke at each other. The focus is you two!
3. What can you give as a couple? Love grows when you give it away. Consider an area in your community, nationally, or internationally where you can give and serve.

So instead of making complaining about each other, come together and work on some common goals for the new year.
