Today I chat with my best friend Dr. Christy Lane. Christy is a start-up founder, award winning scientist, the CEO of Lane Solutions Consulting AND a professor and chair at Mt. Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She is also a wife and mother of three young children. Sounds like a lot, right? It is! But even with all of that on her plate, Christy commits to finding balance in her life by prioritizing what is important to her and her family. Christy gives of some insight to how she tries to ensure there is balance in her life, and provides us with some ideas and tips of how we can do it ourselves.
Christy highly recommends;
- determining where your priorities lie
- setting boundaries
- scheduling not only work, but also self care and family time (and sticking to it!)
- giving yourself grace
- asking for and receiving help when you can
Christy says none of it is necessarily easy, (as most great things in life aren't), but SO worth the effort. And although balance may not be easy to maintain, it is always worth the effort to prioritize those things that make you happy :)
