He is a lifelong social innovator with a passion for entrepreneurship. His first venture was acquired by Richard Branson’s Virgin Group in 2007. Previously, he served as CEO of a financial technology company that was acquired by Interactive Brokers in 2015.  His experiences as an entrepreneur and founder have been chronicled in case studies at Babson College and at Harvard Business School. Outside of his entrepreneurial activities, he has served as a corporate executive, magazine columnist, author of business books, an active member of non-profit and corporate boards, and occasional commentator in media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, and MarketWatch.

He is currently the Board Chair of Prosperity Now, a Washington, D.C.–based nonprofit that bridges public policy and practice in the areas of education, financial capability, entrepreneurship, and homeownership. He is actively involved in the World Economic Forum (WEF) as a member of the Global Agenda Council for the Future of Education, Gender, and Work.
