While we have talked about mental health throughout this podcast, in this weeks’ episode we will be specifically discussing anxiety.
Our guest for the episode is my incredibly dear friend Jess Lawton
She has over 17 years of experience in human resources and organisational development, is passionate about working with people and teams and her goal is to challenge status quo and use her experience in change management, strategy, business design and development to hone in on organisational leaders and teams.
She is a certified gallup strength coach, life and NLP coach and has recently supplemented her psychology and sociology degrees with further education and has added in strategic psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy and counselling to her toolbox.
But with all this, Jess also lives with high functioning anxiety and it is this challenge that she discusses with us.
In today’s episode Jess shares:
- Just how overwhelming anxious thoughts can be
- How she handles her anxiety with the help of friends
- Why it is important to accept anxiety if it is in your life in order to live with it
Key Quotes
“I heal by speaking about it, even when I don’t want to.’
“My anxiety is all about what might happen in the future.”
“The reality is very rarely does the things I worry about actually happen.”
“You can still have your shit together and still have some anxiety.”
