On this episode of the Edge of Comfort Podcast, I talk with the co-founder of Chasing Sunrise, Julian DeSchutter about how to create a life around your deepest values and loves.
Not many people would spontaneously drive nearly 1500 miles roundtrip to Mexico in a weekend to get tacos. For Chasing Sunrise co-founder, Julian DeSchutter, this trip was one way him and his friends brought adventure into their normal life.
Julian DeSchutter (@deshoots) is a builder of companies, charities, projects, cultures, communities, and an overall fascinating life. His passion intersects between building things people care about and telling stories about them.
One of these takes shape in the form of Chasing Sunrise. Chasing Sunrise is a company and community that understands life is about waking up every day and going after the things we truly want. It emphasizes living in a way that our 9-5 and 95 year-old self will appreciate.
With this message leading the company, Chasing Sunrise makes it their mission to bring people together for awesome adventures. They create an environment that welcomes deep connections, conversations, and activities that spark life.
While many of the events currently take place near Vancouver, Chasing Sunrise recently ran trips to Everest Base Camp and Morocco. In February and March of this year, they are taking groups into Yukon Territory to see the Northern Lights.
Julian understands just how short life is and is constantly living in a way his 80-year old self would thank him for. This means pursuing ideas, putting them out into the world, being vulnerable and going on crazy adventures despite facing fear and discomfort.
Based on our conversation or his Instagram, it’s easy to see his belief in forming deep connections, working together, and challenging yourself and others to do the work necessary to improve. Enjoy the episode and go to edgeofcomfort.com/eocp22 for full episode show notes.
