#22: Music Ministry Then & Now with Shawanda Smith
Join Dr. Jasmine and Shawanda Smith, Global Minister of Music, for a little girl chat about the shift in gospel to Christian contemporary music. Shawanda shares her personal journey as a singer, composer, and gospel artist, as one who has shared the stage with many of the gospel music’s greats. This girl chat also reveals how Shawanda was led by God into her purpose as a fulltime minister of music.
Shawanda is a preacher’s kid in the Church of God in Christ from Dayton, OH. From age five until now, she’s been a lead singer in choirs, whether in her home church or in school. She is also no stranger to writing and performing her own music and has shared the stage in ministry with several of gospel music’s greats. More recently, Shawanda was blessed to relocate from her hometown, with her husband Will and their five children to St. Louis, MO, where she is the Global Minister of music at One Family Church.
