22. Part Two, The Heart of Obedience: Success in the Yes!

Listen Later

Welcome back, listeners! This is the last two-part episode of our series: redefining the typical measures of success by flippin’ the script of the worldly narrative. We all want a “good life,” but that looks differently for everyone. It all comes down to being tuned into the heart of God and obedient to the call over our lives through our God-given identity. All too often the world and our experience define us, which becomes the driving force behind our decisions and measures of success.

Jason and Holly McCullough, close friends of Laura & Tara, continue sharing their journey through saying YES even though the evidence of success is little-to-none. Part two of their genuine, heartful conversation holds space for you, valued listener, to join us in the journey of faithfulness amid chaos.

Listener, we pray that you are truly moved by the McCullough’s faithful journey as they failed forward and struggled hard. We pray that you, too, are blessed with a steadfast spirit as you navigate your painfully stretching moments. We also have great hope that you have at least one person that can hold space for you as you take risks, ‘brave your abundance,’ and keep saying, “YES, LET’S GO!” to the lovingly guidance of God ––even when it doesn’t make sense to others.

The Wheel of Fear: Tara is holding a firm stance on the loser board! This week was oddly a tough one for her as she shares on her public Facebook page (Tara Shook Ouellette) a need. What’s the need you ask? Donations. GULP! It took her the whole week ––one hour before recording time to be exact ––to follow through with publicly stating her need for donations. It was truly a download from God. Sorta like God saying, “Tara, what do you think about inviting others to partner with you in AbundantlyMe ministries by donating as they felt led? What would it feel like to state that need?”

Listener, regardless of the need Tara made public. How are you at telling another what your needs are? Back to the ‘power of we,’ do you have people around you that you feel comfortable to communicate your needs? If not, what steps can you take to become more comfortable doing so?

I found that I was more focused on what others would think of me (false humily), rather than freely and joyfully allowing my greater community to choose their response based on my request. Ahhh…now that’s freeing!
