Today on the show we explore the S word, Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility. It's a complex beast that is difficult to understand for many and has left a number of people confused, frustrated and overwhelmed in this country and abroad. At a recent United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 25 Australia was awarded the Fossil Award as a global laggard in Climate Policy. Leadership in the country has been unstable for nearly two decades, with many younger voters not seeing a Prime Minister complete a full term of office. This destabilisation at the national level has lead to unpredictable policy not just with regard to Sustainable Development in this country but at all levels, with Australia's education rankings dropping from 4th globally to 16th according to the PISA rankings, Income inequality growing an unprecedented levels according to the ABS data and our world class health care system fracturing under growing demographic pressure. We need leadership of the highest calibre and need to move towards endorsing those who are self-less in their service to humanity. We need leaders who are compassionate. The question of how we create a sustainable future for our children and their children now must be answered. I am delighted to have Dr Kaushik Sridhar on the show to talk through his knowledge and expertise on corporate sustainability.
