Prior to Catylex, David was senior counsel at Bridgewater Associates, Executive Director and Counsel at UBS, and Director and Counsel at Credit Suisse. David started his career as a database developer before jumping into law at Cleary Gottlieb.
David discusses the parallels between legal contracts and code, and how those similarities led him to building Catylex, a company focused on extracting data from contracts. David explains how contract data can be utilized to more efficiently understand the content of the hundreds or thousands of contracts many companies possess. David even suggests that contracts as we know them today may be replaced by smart contracts that rely on company-specific data that can be inserted into a model that generates optimal contract terms based on the data inputs.
