About our guest
Mary is an award-winning magazine editor with more than 10 years’ experience in print and digital publishing. She leads the editorial team at Changeboard and Future Talent Group, which produce a thought leadership magazine for senior HR leaders, with a mission to inspire individuals and organisations to ‘change the way you work’.
Mary joined Changeboard in 2007 and became chief editor in 2013. She is responsible for architecting inspirational content about the future of work, across a global portfolio of print and digital publications for the business and also for third-parties. Under her leadership, Future Talent magazine has been recognised as HR Publication of the Year three times in four years at the Willis Towers Watson industry awards.
Notable interviews include: Dame Carolyn McCall, Sir Lenny Henry, Ruby Wax, Dame Katherine Grainger, Sir Steve Redgrave and Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith.
Hugely passionate about diversity, equality and inclusion for all, Mary has worked as a volunteer mentor with Cambridge University as part of its aims to raise aspiration and widen participation from all backgrounds.
Mary holds an MA Honours degree in English Literature from Cambridge University. She lives in London with her husband and son.

Mary shares her proudest moments which includes how she secured a place at Cambridge and went on to achieve an honours degree, despite her humble background and schooling. She explains how a teacher in her sixth-form college helped her believe in herself.
As mum to a toddler, Mary shares the challenges of returning to work after maternity and how she manages to juggle all of the balls and recognising she does the best that she can.
She is an advocate of healthy eating and exercise, having changed her lifestyle and lost weight she carried in her early twenties.
Mary is motivated by creating and finds fulfilment in her work as a magazine editor and she also loves supporting people and helping people in underprivileged areas to access opportunities.
An uplifting and inspiring half hour.
