Reb Levi Yitzchak and Reb Mendel of Vitebsk watched two men shine on their way to the mikvah, then saw that glow vanish when they emerged.
“They came in broken and longing,” said Reb Levi. “But they left thinking they were already fixed. The light comes from the yearning, not the arrival.”
