22: What does market research mean in government contracting?

Listen Later

In today's episode, we discuss market research and how the government uses it against small businesses. Market research is when the government tries to determine whether there are any small businesses that are eligible and willing to participate in upcoming opportunities.

The government conducts market research by putting out opportunities on the government's point of entry, a great example is SAM.gov, and the ask small businesses if they can provide the required service or product.

If no small businesses respond, the government can decide what they want to do with the opportunity. If you are a small business owner, be more involved and informed about the procedures and tools that the government uses. Tune in to this episode to learn more.
