#22 Work on losing weight (again)

Listen Later

Today we're going to explore a topic that's on many people's minds: weight loss. I need to do this again because I just decided to go back to Japan sometime in December for a week or so. My only hope for this short trip is to allow myself to eat anything I want. Therefore, I need the space to gain weight. To be more specific, I am expecting a 6 to 8 lbs gain while eating in Japan. that's kind of funny because what I am talking about almost sounds like giving birth. That is not what I am talking about. To eat what I want while in Japan, I need to lose weight beforehand like a boxing player.

By the way, I have been spending a ridiculously long time to lose weight in my life. To say my life is all about the battle with my weight is not an overstatement. I know most females do in a way before a certain event such as a wedding party. But my war has never ended.

Let me tell you something. Most importantly, I succeeded twice. 10 years ago and 4 years ago, I lost 17 lbs, 8 lbs each for a couple of months by running 5k every night and controlling my diet to under 1200 kcal per day. by the way of course without any limit on alcohol. I need to drink every day. No exemption in my life which is no rule for alcohol. There should be no limit on alcohol consumption. I am going to die if I am forced to give up my alcohol life.

The problem is, this time my golden recipe doesn't work. Running 5k every night and controlling meals under 1200kcal per day seems not to be eligible for my body anymore. on a daily basis, I don't eat dinner, a boiled egg, boiled chicken breast and broccoli. I intake carbohydrate only in a breakfast on a daily basis. what I have said is the thing I am doing to keep my weight. Been doing this for almost one year, and now my body is thinking this is standard. I need to drastically change my method.

There should be no space to cut my meals and add extra cardio workouts to lose weight.

When it comes to losing weight, there are countless strategies out there, here is what I am going to do this time. No 1, Monitor meals to see how much fat is included to cut fat. I used to monitor overall kcal but now I started looking at nutrition facts. Then, I try to boil everything, not grill anything with oil even breakfast. This is way harder than you think. My body was smart enough to recognize and complain about something missing when I started taking oil and fat out of my meals. it is stressful.

No.2, do CrossFit three times a week to build muscles. Generally speaking, CrossFit is a high-intensity workout program that combines elements from various sports and types of exercise, including high-intensity interval training (HIIT), weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics, and other exercises. The main idea from my side is to make a transition from a cardio-centred workout to a combination of cardio and building muscles to burn kcal. I believe it is not only good for my long-term health to keep myself in good shape but also might play a role as a stimulus possibly on a long boring diet journey. This is also way harder than you think. I have muscle sour on a daily basis and sleep like die after work on weekdays.

So far I have kept this new dynamic to lose weight for a month. Unfortunately, I don't see any stanning result that I can tell you but keep an eye on it and hope it works. Give me any advice to achieve the health goals. I will give you an update on my losing weight war.
