Tim Walz’s Crypto Stance:Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have not yet clarified their stance on regulating digital assets and blockchain technology. That hasn’t stopped the crypto community, who is already reacting to the news. On August 6, Vice President Harris named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the 2024 election. They are running against Republican nominee Donald Trump and Ohio Senator JD Vance. The differing ideologies of these campaigns have sparked social media reactions, with many in the crypto world concerned about Walz's potential impact.

Schulman Joins Anthropic:John Schulman is the co-founder of OpenAI. He left OpenAI for Anthropic. His departure leaves only three of the original 11 co-founders still at OpenAI. Schulman announced his decision on August 6, stating it was a personal choice to pursue his interests in AI alignment and technical work. He emphasized that his departure wasn't due to a lack of support at OpenAI.

Starknet CEO Steps Down:Speaking of personnel changes, Diego Oliva has stepped down as CEO of the Starknet Foundation. Oliva became CEO in March 2023. He transformed the Starknet Foundation from a small team of two part-time employees to a robust organization with over thirty full-time professionals. Under his leadership, the foundation executed several key projects and initiatives successfully.

AI Revenue for Publishers:The AI platform Perplexity introduced a new revenue-sharing model called the "Publishers' Program." This initiative is designed to provide proper credit and financial support to content creators when their articles appear in search results. The program addresses the growing concern over the use of copyrighted material in AI training without consent or compensation.

Ronin Network Breach:On August 6, a Maximum Extractable Value bot drained nearly 3,996 Ether from the Ronin network bridge. This was a surprising accident. The bot returned almost all the funds. According to Etherscan, the bot unintentionally front-ran an attack. The returned Ether was valued at over $10 million. The Ronin team confirmed the return of 3,991 ETH. Five ETH remains unreturned. The bot's owner received a $500,000 reward for finding the exploit.

AI in K-12 Education:The Colorado Education Initiative (CEI) has launched a "Roadmap for AI in K-12 Education." This roadmap helps schools and educators develop policies for using artificial intelligence. It follows the work of a steering committee formed last year.
