A cold front swept through while you slept and is now exiting stage right. Here's the thing. All that ground moisture is setting us up for fog tonight.
In the next 24 hours. Let's check where we stand. Metro Atlanta wakes up at 50 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. You climb to 67 degrees by late afternoon. Tonight holds steady around 50 degrees with clouds sticking around.
Down along the coast, the rain isn't quite finished. You're looking at a 90 percent chance of showers this afternoon. Highs hit 69 degrees with west winds around 7 miles an hour. The rain finally tapers off before midnight. Lows drop to about 54 degrees.
Over in Eastern Georgia, mostly cloudy skies rule the day with a high near 66 degrees. Watch for patchy fog developing after 10 P.M. Tonight. That fog could stick around until about 8 A.M. Saturday before the sun burns it off.
A quick warning for Gwinnett County. A Flood Warning is in effect for Suwanee Creek until late tonight. Minor flooding is expected. If you see a flooded road, turn around. Don't drown.
Your weekend is shaping up beautifully. Saturday brings clearing skies and spring-like highs in the upper 60s. Sunday warms into the low to mid 70s with plenty of sunshine. Perfect timing for whatever you've planned.
Looking ahead, a wedge pattern cools us down Monday and Tuesday with highs in the low 60s. but by Wednesday, we rebound toward 70 degrees. Rain returns Thursday with highs near 80.
We're gaining over two minutes of daylight every day now. Sunrise is at 7:10 A.M. With sunset at 6:33 P.M. Check those wiper blades before your morning commute. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
