Gilt-Leaf Winnower is a respectable card in Commander elf strategies leveraging the color black. The flavorful mechanics on the card itself are also very thought-provoking given the background of the Gilt-Leaf elves of Lorwyn. Eye blights are classified as creatures that don't align with the elven image of perfection and this card defines them in Magic: the Gathering card terms as non-elf creatures whose power and toughness are not equal.
