We all know life means challenges, but we don't think it's going to happen to us.

When Darci fell and developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, the Steiner's marriage had to take a different route. It was no longer give and take like in most healthy marriages, it was give and give and give. Learning how to rewalk after two years in bed was real celebration! But then at another celebration, the Steiners daughters wedding,  everything came crashing down with a fallen chair.

Both the caregiver and care receiver have needs, although the caregiver often goes unnoticed. Mark wrote a chapter in a book Darci just published called Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in Suffering.
