He was 70 when he decided that he still had it in him! Even the decision to trek to Everest Base Camp over 13 days separates Andy Loney, a grandfather of 6, as unique.  One of his companions was a beautifully curious, 'let me tackle the world', 21-year-old. His name was Darcy Elks. Darcy strode to Everest Base Camp with confidence and assurance. Andy finished up needing a horse to get him to the base of Sagarmartha. He had never ridden one! Darcy still had energy the next morning to take on a bigger challenge ... the ascent of Kala Patthar to 5600 metres. His reward was a conversation with Everest.

Same event ... same expectations ... different journeys!
