In today’s episode, I was joined by Stephen Ah Sen, a Diaspora Asian from Mauritius. He is a dance teacher/dancer (Chinese dance/hip pop) living in Mauritius. He is also a youtuber that shows his audience his life living in Mauritius as an ethnic Chinese person. His goal is to highlight the Chinese experience in Mauritius as well as promote Mauritius’ Chinatown to the world.

In our conversation, we covered topics like:

• His background, his feelings towards his identity, and his Diaspora Asian experience being born and raised in Africa
  
• How he didn’t know what kind of Asian he is and how studying in Singapore helped him figure out his Asian identity
