When you train to become a teacher, you become accustomed to the intense workload and hours. Once you qualify, those habits that helped you to survive your teacher training can remain with you although they no longer serve you. You may find yourself overworking, overcompensating and spending all of your time and energy in teaching. It can feel like a never ending treadmill.
What you will learn in this episode:
• How you came to be on the teacher treadmill in the first place
• The risks to you by staying on the teacher treadmill
• How you can find your own pause button
Although teaching is intense, there are ways that you can make changes that will enable you to step off the teacher treadmill and make time for yourself. Boundaries will be your friend here. Step back this week and explore where you may be able to reduce your input without affecting your output.
