#23: Intermittent Fasting | The In's, Out's and Why of the Lifestyle

In this episode I have Dr. Scott Watier and Tommy Welling from Fasting for Life to discuss the topic of intermittent fasting. Most people aren’t sure how best to approach fasting, such as how long, what to eat when practicing, or the benefits that it provides. We learn that when you’re eating just one meal a day, you typically only eat enough calories to make up for 12-14 hours of the day that you missed, so overall you will experience a deficit in caloric intake. A common fear people have about fasting is they think they will binge eat after a long fasting period, such as 24 hours, and it will undo the time they went without food, but in reality it’s really hard to actually eat enough in one sitting to gain back what you lost. Most people try fasting to lose weight, but there are many other benefits people don’t realize they will receive that we learn and discuss here in this episode.
