23. Practical Strategies on How to Deal with Overwhelm

Do you feel overwhelmed, tired, or burned out? If so, you’re in the right place! Today I’ll give you practical strategies for how to deal with that sense of being overwhelmed. You’ve got this!

We all deal with overwhelm. If we don’t handle it correctly, we can run ourselves into the ground and burn ourselves out. Sound familiar? As a leading lady, I’m sure you’ve been there and know exactly what I’m talking about. That’s why I’m so excited to share these practical strategies with you today! Ready? Here we go!

  1. Close your eyes, stop what you’re doing, and breathe.
  2. Focus on what’s in front of you right now.
  3. On a sheet of paper, make a list of everything that’s swimming around in your head.
  4. Review each item and decide whether you personally need to do it, or whether you can delegate it.
  5. Prioritize all the things on your list that you have to do, and list deadlines.
  6. Take a break!
  7. Do the next task with as little distraction as possible.
  8. Use your “no” muscle to say no to any requests until you can include them on your list.

It doesn’t sound too bad when you break it down that way, right? Try these steps, and I promise you’ll feel better, start breathing easier, and break out of that sense of being burned out and overwhelmed.
