Hide and Seek

230 – Caught Up

Listen Later

The Hide and Seek family is back together for a very busy catch-up.

Joenas returns from Thailand with stories from judging Mr Bear International, including national costumes, bear pool parties, bouncing castles and the challenges faced by queer titleholders in countries where LGBTQIA+ people have limited legal protection.

Craig takes us behind the scenes of the Australian Leather Competition, reflecting on the contestants, judging process, standout moments and Australian Leather’s plans to provide stronger mentoring for non-cis-male competitors.

Then the team looks ahead to a packed calendar of bear, leather, pup and fetish events across Australia, including International Mr Leather, Southern Hibernation, Mr Australasia Bear, Sydney’s leather titles, Brisbane Leather Week and the Australian Pup and Handler Competition.

It’s competitions, community, travel, titles and just enough inappropriate commentary to make it a proper Hide and Seek reunion.

This episode was recorded on the lands of the Yalukut Weelam clan of the Boon Wurrung peoples. We pay our respects to their elders, past, present and emerging, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
