When I heard this concept I loved it! Creating intentional memories. Let’s talk about how this works in today’s show.
Transcript:
Welcome to Everyday Happiness, where we create lasting happiness in two minutes a day through my signature method of Intentional Margins® (creating harmony between your to-dos and your priorities), happiness science, and musings about life.
I'm your host, Katie Jefcoat, and my friend Ryan sent me a Facebook message this week about this concept he heard and it's so good. I, of course, had to share it with you.
He said that it's this idea of creating intentional memories. He had just heard this and sent me a message right away. He had me at— intentional. So here's how it goes:
At the beginning of the year or the quarter or really anytime at all, you can do this with your family or just yourself. You think about what are the intentional memories I want to create in this
time frame and then you write them down.
So what are the intentional memories I want to create this year? My kids have all kinds of ideas, like make a sandcastle at the beach, have lots of sleepovers, go go-cart racing and indoor skydiving, more movie time with popcorn and use the indoor s'mores machine that we got for Christmas, do three puzzles… I mean, the ideas are endless! And this is such a fun idea and works great with family to get a feel of where you want to be and what their Intentional Margins® and priorities are.
If you could also do this yourself, it would be so easy, right? What are some intentional memories you want to create this year? I can think of so many for me. From reading a magazine at the beach, date night with my husband at least once a month, movie night with the kids...
The ideas really are endless.
So what would you choose as an intentional memory? It's so fun to dream. Let us know over at @everydayhappinesswithkatie on social. We'd love to hear what your intentional memories are, and I am confident that your idea will inspire someone else. And isn't that the best part?
Like the ripple effect. It's so much fun.
