Two years ago, Tveen Verano’s youngest son, Alex, caught what seemed like a routine virus. But when weeks passed without recovery, a hospital visit revealed the unthinkable: stage 4 leukemia and neuroblastoma.

Their world shifted overnight to chemo treatments and constant uncertainty. While their community showered them with support and reminded them that children are resilient, the family was traumatized.
