This week on the Capes and Tights Podcast, Justin Soderberg welcomes back comic retailer Paul Eaton to discuss the 2005 Fantastic Four movie.

Scientist Reed Richards persuades his arrogant former classmate, Victor von Doom, to fund his experiments with cosmic energy. On von Doom's space station, the crew -- including astronaut Ben Grimm, researcher Sue Storm and pilot Johnny Storm -- are exposed to a mysterious cosmic storm that bestows super powers upon them. As they cope with their transformations, von Doom vows his revenge.

The film was directed by Tim Story on a script by Mark Frost and Michael France based on the Marvel Comics' characters co-created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The team first appeared in comics in The Fantastic Four #1(November 1961).

Starring Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Chris Evansas Johnny Storm / Human Torchs, Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm / The Thing, Julian McMahon as Victor von Doom / Doctor Doom, and Kerry Washington as Alicia Masters.

Fantastic Four released in theaters on July 8, 2005 and is now available to stream.
