There have been many studies looking at procrastination and weight loss. After last week's coaching, I saw procrastination impacting my members in two distinct categories that I want to discuss in this episode.
The two ways I've been seeing procrastination show up with my members, that you might be able to relate to are -
1. Procrastinate what they need to do and eat instead. 2. Procrastinate on movement, honoring their body, eating a smidge better, etc. The reasons range from avoiding emotionally painful situations to doing the annoying task of laundry. Of course, eating is going to be more fun than doing laundry. When members begin working with me, they are typically nervously excited. Their brains are ready for something new and different, but there is a part of them that worries if past patterns of procrastination will get in the way. If you have been saying to yourself or others some version of, “I will do it later” then what you might be really telling yourself is that you don’t want to do it at all. Well, that works in some cases, but when it comes to losing weight, it doesn't.
