In this solocast I talk about how you get what you expect in relationships. Expectations in relationships are a double-edged sword because they can both guide and undermine connection. On one hand, clear expectations set standards for respect, communication, and mutual effort, creating a framework for trust and stability. For example, expecting honesty or support fosters accountability and helps partners align their actions. On the other hand, unrealistic or unspoken expectations can breed resentment and misunderstanding. I emphasize how having positive expectations of your partner and relationship is actually a good thing!
