On March 31st, J-Live will release his 7th album, "His Own Self;" an album. One track on the album is called "Mic Singletary." J spits “The/ station don’t play it/they're playing with our patience/. ”On The Library with Tim Einenkel, I asked J-Live what role does commercial radio play for him as a hip hop artist?

“There's plenty of satellite radio that plays real hip hop," J-Live told Tim..." There's plenty of internet radio stations that play real hip hop. And there's tons of college radio that plays it. As far as the charts and the billboards and the Hot 97s and the Power 105s of the world...It's not so much, why don't you accept us or why don't you show the full spectrum of hip hop as much as, we ain't really checking for y'all no more. We've lost patience. There's so many different ways to get this music to the people, that you don't have to focus on that and stress that.”
