Today's episode is the introduction to phase 2 of the From Ashes to Destiny curriculum which deals with discovering, uncovering and healing our heart wounds which caused or fueled our addiction. Chapter 1 of phase 2 is entitled The Battle For a Heart and it opens with the poem, My Childhood, by Gregory Williams. The key of this moving poem is that the author is searching for someone who will truly see his childhood and understand what it's like being him as an adult. We touch on topics for discussion like abandonment, physical abuse, emotional abuse and the death of parents. The episode closes with the question, "Can we heal the confusion by finding one person who truly understands?"
