Derrick Todd Lee, known as the Baton Rouge Serial Killer, stalked women. He watched them through the windows of their homes, where they felt safe. When the moment was right, he would either sneak in through an open window or charm his way into their homes by flashing his million-dollar smile and then forcing himself inside before he would assault and murder them. Lee crept under the radar as a suspect for over a decade as the Baton Rouge law enforcement community tried to solve these murders, despite years of building a rap sheet with countless other crimes including burglary and stalking. With the advancements of DNA technology, Lee would be linked to the murders of at least seven unsolved murders.
