A high percentage of the effects in any large system is caused by a low percentage of variables. Applying the 80/20 rule means identifying and focusing your resources on the critical 20% of input or effort. This should give you the maximum results. As it turns out, focusing more, actually yields diminishing returns. All this, and more in this episode based on an excerpt from the Universal Principles of Design.
