However, the Bible teaches a balancing principle -- that husbands are to treat their wives with kindness and tenderness. Parents should have authority over children, but must also avoid the two things that can cause anger in their children. This lesson also discusses how to maintain balance in the home by understanding the difference between the lamp of the father's commandment and the law of the mother's light.
