It’s the film that’s generated unparalleled controversy. The granddaddy of all bigfoot footage. A mere 954 frames of grainy footage taken deep in the wilderness of Northern California that continues to make heads explode over 56 years later. To some, it’s obviously just some bonehead in an ape costume, because they can tell by some of the pixels. But to others, the subject in the video is absolutely a real-life, living, breathing, sasquatch, because they can tell by some of the OTHER pixels. For nearly 60 years, this footage has been the subject of intense debate and scrutiny. If it’s a hoax, it’s caused thousands of middle-aged men to waste their precious lives slamming baseball bats into trees really hard, and screaming as loud as they can into the woods for no apparent reason (Which is awesome in and of itself). But if authentic, it’s arguably one of, if not THE most important pieces of footage mankind has ever recorded.
