In our overstimulated, complicated and anxiety-filled world, we need to reflect on ourselves, learn to cope with fears, uncertainty and limitation. The Buddhist trend with "mindfulness" brings an enjoyable counterpoint that brings a change of attitude.

Prosperity problems such as emotional or physical exhaustion, fatigue and sleep disorders have become almost normal, the health condition of the majority is alarming, hysteria has left deep notches in people's state of mind. Professional stress brings further mental stimuli, constant accessibility and an office in one's pocket results in even more pressure. Added to this are fears of loss, jobs are no longer secure, the threat of slipping is looming.

However, many people now want to take their own destiny into their own hands again, to "optimize" their own ego.

Buddhists always have the topic of "mindfulness" in the back of their minds, since the great teacher urged his followers to live mindfully, to stay in the here and now, not to digress.

The average Central European increasingly feels a longing that finds expression in the trendy term mindfulness. For the average person, this is less about meditative rapture and more about a certain degree of well-being, which is said to come from Buddhism in particular. Mindfulness as a countermovement to the constant "more", to the always "higher", to the all-round "further", as a counterpole with a lot of calmness.
