#249 Personalized Ongoing Out Patient Therapy: The Push to Walk Story

In this episode, we talk with Cynthia Templeton, mother of Darren Templeton, who sustained a C5 incomplete spinal cord injury in July 2004 at the age of 18 after diving into shallow water at the Jersey Shore. Upon returning home, after attending outpatient therapy at a renowned SCI rehab facility in California far away from their home, together they sought to create a close to home out patient SCI therapy option in New Jersey for ongoing daily and weekly rehab.  Cynthia and Darren co-founded Push to Walk in 2007, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals with paralysis and neuromuscular conditions by providing state-of-the-art SCI exercise equipment, and activities based therapy premised on neuroscience findings of the power of the mind to focus intentionally on the exercise to enhance the outcome. Join us to hear about the Push to Walk community of clients, families, trainers, and researchers. For more info or to make a donation, please visit: https://www.pushtowalknj.org/
