Well along with many of us, I have been fighting off a bout of covid. I hope you might be among those who have stayed well, but, if not, I trust you are making a good recovery. 

I suppose it’s covid itself that has inspired my title today: Catching our breath. If there’s been a physical disease that makes it hard for our bodies to breathe, is there also a spiritual disease that makes it hard for us to receive the Holy Spirit and reach out to others in true fellowship, mercy and kindness?

Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit on his disciples and immediately gave them the authority to forgive sins. Have we received the Holy Spirit? Are we sharing his mercy and forgiveness with others?
