25 | Come Home to Calm: The Pre Vacation Home Reset

Listen Later

Ever come home from a trip and immediately feel stressed because the house is a mess, the trash smells, and the laundry mountain is staring you down? In this episode, I am sharing my simple pre vacation reset routine so you can walk in the door, drop your bags, empty your suitcase, and relax.

You do not need a deep clean. You just need a clean baseline.

In this episode, I cover The Suitcase Only Rule and why it changes everything The three zones that matter most before you leave: kitchen, laundry, and your landing zone My before you go checklist that prevents smells, bugs, and clutter pile ups The Ten Minute Leaving Routine for when you are rushing out the door The Two Minute Return Routine so you actually unpack and do not live out of your suitcase

Before you go checklist highlights Kitchen reset so nothing stinks or attracts bugs Trash and recycling out Laundry finished so suitcase laundry is the only laundry when you get back Quick bathroom wipe down and toilets closed Counters cleared and a quick sweep or vacuum Mail and deliveries coordinated so nothing stacks up Thermostat set and a couple lights on timers Landing zone ready with an empty laundry basket for travel clothes
