Seja talks to Shane Parsons (DZ Deathrays) about growing up in Bundaberg and being starved for live music, supporting heroes, working with Burke Reid, DZ’s strange recording mishaps pre first album, the golden times of old Brisbane venues and the ins and outs (literally) of his pedal board. Shane tells tour stories and they bond over hip hop, worry about their livers and discuss the lengths one has to go to sell records and show tickets.
Shane’s story is illustrated by Craig Atkins @catkingssux and can be seen on Instagram at @hearsejpodcast or on the HearSej Facebook page.
