25. The episode without Joe

Listen Later

Joe is away having a series of zany adventures while trying to overthrow government of Greece, so this week Eric is joined by Austin Berg from the Illinois Policy Institute. Bernie Sanders is sticking by his defense of Cuba’s Castro regime and not backing down. If only we had an example of what happens when a candidate for president doesn’t apologize for anything, no matter how bad. At a time when people freak out about anything and everything, there’s been remarkably little freak out about Coronavirus. But that doesn’t mean there’s been a lot of seriousness about it either. A new report says that soda taxes “work” to get people to avoid soda. So, what about other taxes? Do they make people avoid those things? Springfield moves to ban red light cameras. Yet another terrible idea done in by Illinois corruption. And finally, Austin just recently tried the Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich. He regales us with the experience as Eric defends Bernie Sanders - at least, defends his stance on sharp cheddar.
